well, its happened. a day that I thought would wait another year at least. but, no, its arrived on friday. the day that chicken number five fell asleep in time out. let me back up...
Chicken number 4 and 5 are very similar and, well, I have seen them go through the same actions almost at the same time in life until Friday that is. You see Chicken 4 and I had days where she would seem to like her time out spot so much that as soon as she left it she would do something to warrant her going right back in. Well, on one of these days I discovered when I went to get her up that she had fallen asleep due to her lack of a nap, and well, funnally enough, I KNEW that was what she needed all along. Well, Friday was that day for chicken number 5. He finally bit the dust so to speak and fell asleep in the hard floor in time out. He actually had his head on the molding and when he woke up had a very nice red mark on his cheek.

Chicken Happenings
Well we are settled in our new home. Right. Smack. In. Middle. Of. Town. Yup, we took our country chickens and moved them into town. Well as you can imagine there are a few things we have to do differently "in" town, things I did not think I would have to tell my chickens about. The following are just a few of the things we have discovered our chickens doing:
1. Dumpster Diving- an activity that involves a neighbor filling the dumpster in the ally with leaves and chickens number 3 & 4 taking turns literally "diving" headfirst into the dumpster.
2. Indecent Exposure- an activity that involves a nameless chicken peeing on our neighbors front yard. When chastised about this activity the chicken in question simply said "I was behind a tree."
3. Reckless Endangerment- an activity that involves 3 special little chickens taking turns shooting their arrows at our neighbors house. When chastised about this activity their defense was simply "We were taking turns like Papa said." Thanks Dad.
