A study on sick chickens

Yet again I am faced with just how incredibly genius I am. You see, I have preformed another study on the lives of my chickens, this study was done when they were sick and in the grand tradition of chickens being, well, chickens I find this study rather interesting...

Subject: Chicken Number 1
Age: 11
Gender: Female

This chicken is timid and wants complete privacy when she relays the horrible truth that she is in fact sick. She does not want anyone to know and more over says she does not want anyone to fuss over her. The reality is she really wants the world to know that she is ill and wants the world to empathize with her.

Subject: Chicken Number 2
Age: 10
Gender: Male

This chicken comes to me and says "Mom, my throat feels weird." I then take him to the doctor and discover he has strep and a double ear infection. We learned early on that if THIS chicken complains about any aliment we rush him to the doctor. This chicken actually has to be tied to his bed when he is sick or he will be bouncing off the walls like he does every other day of the year.

Subject: Chicken Number 3
Age: 6
Gender: Male

This chicken likes to tell me he is sick when he is not so he can have the "Yummy Medicine". He rarely gets sick, but when he is lucky enough to do so he is thrilled and eagerly awaits the next dose of medication.

Subject: Chicken Number 4
Age: 5 (but she tells us she is 9)
Gender: Female

This chicken takes great delight in being sick as well and often patters into our room at night because she has a "sore stroke" and needs "grape medicine". She not only wants the world to know when she is sick but wants the world to stop dead in its tracks as well, a feat that we find hard to comply with. She moans, cries, whines, and mopes until the last drop of medicine is dispensed.

Subject: Chicken Number 5
Age: 16 months
Gender: Male

This chicken rarely complains of anything except when we tell him to stop crawling on the counter. When he gets sick he gets REALLY sick, and as is the trend with CN2 we rarely hear anything about it until he is VERY sick.

And so my loyal readers that is the "sick chicken study" in a nutshell. Hope you have gleaned much wisdom from reading and are better prepared for the sicknesses your chickens may have this year.
